Join us for equestrian trail riding at Alafia River State Park, centrally-located near Tampa bay. The Alafia park is a former phosphate mine. Mining altered the landscape and created new landforms, including several small lakes and steep grades. This makes it great for trail riding.
Your guide will point out all the wildlife you may come across. Part of the ride will take you to the lake’s edge. Keep your eyes peeled as you may see water birds, turtles, and even an alligator. Most of the ride routes through the manicured shady trails. Find a perfect spot and your guide will do a quick photo shoot for you.
Horseback Riding in Tampa, FL lets you leave the stress of the city behind. The first part of your excursion will be a meet and greet. Your instructor will match you with your beautiful rescued gypsy horse. You will marvel at their beauty and quiet nature. Once you look into their eyes, your heart will melt. Next, you will receive your riding instructions. Then, mount up and begin your journey. You may feel like you are riding a magical unicorn through an enchanted forest…well you just might be.
After the ride is over, you will get another chance to love on your horse. This is where you help us with our rescues, as 90% of our horses were rescued. After you give them the carrots that you brought for them, you give them their final rub and kiss goodbye. You see, you are showing them that not all humans are BAD!
Your excursion will include a meet and greet with your horse, safety meeting, and your final farewell with the ponies. Please plan on arriving 15-20 minutes before your scheduled ride time. If for any reason the weather is not cooperating, the ride may be altered. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities.
Caution – we are selling out FAST! Please book your horseback ride online as far in advance as possible. The picture package is available on the day of your ride starting at $25 for two people.
All minor children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult on the same ride. Everyone rides their own horse, no double riding allowed. Children under 10 must receive permission from owner. Please email or call.
All tickets are fully refundable up to 20 days prior to the day of your ride. Within 20 days of your ride, we will refund 50% of your ticket price up to 96 hours before the scheduled start time of your ride. At 96 hours (4 days) your money goes hard and will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Customers will be entitled to a refund or receive a rain check good for one year in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows or late riders will be charged the full price with no refund. Please double check your ride time and location, arriving at the incorrect location for your ride could potentially forfeit your ride completely without the option to reschedule or receive a refund. There are no refunds or cash values on Gift Certificate purchases.
Activity may be cancelled due to severe weather. The activity usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If the seller cancels the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule, gift certificate or a full refund.
